In Christ Realities--Part 4

Embracing Your Divine Identity: Manifesting God's Glory in the World

In a world that often seeks to define us by external factors, it's crucial to remember our true identity as children of God. We are called to be more than mere spectators in this life - we are meant to be active participants, manifesting God's glory and power on earth.  The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This powerful truth sets the stage for understanding our position in Christ. We are not just improved versions of our old selves; we are entirely new creations, a species of being that never existed before.

But what does it mean to be "in Christ"? It's more than just a phrase - it's a position of power and authority. When we truly grasp our identity in Christ, we unlock the ability to do all things through Him. This isn't just positive thinking; it's a biblical reality that should shape how we view ourselves and the world around us.  Too often, we focus on what's not going well in our lives. Instead, we should take time to acknowledge the good things God has provided through Jesus. The blood of Christ, which puts us in right standing with God. The Word of God, which lights our path. The Holy Spirit, who guides and instructs us. These are just a few of the incredible gifts we have received.

As believers, we must not underestimate the power of our sonship. Galatians 3:26 tells us, "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith." This sonship provides a reality of who we are in the kingdom. It's our identity in the spirit, allowing us to dominate in the natural world.  The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19 says, "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed." This manifestation isn't just about showing off; it's about making God's presence evident in the world. It's the process by which God reveals Himself and His plan to humanity through us.

As reflections of God, we are crowned with glory and honor. This glory encompasses dignity, worth, value, and respect. God sees us as important and worthy, regardless of external factors. And as we receive this glory from God, we are called to extend it to others - even those who may have wronged us.  It's a challenging call, but one that sets us apart as true children of God. We are to respect others, not because they've earned it, but because of the office they hold. This includes authority figures like government leaders and law enforcement. Our respect and honor should reflect the character of Christ, even when it's difficult.

Moreover, we are called to be the answer to the world's problems. Mark 16:15-18 outlines the signs that should follow believers: casting out demons, speaking in new tongues, protection from harm, and healing the sick. These aren't just ancient stories; they're meant to be our reality today. We are to be fearless for the things of God, bringing His solutions to a hurting world.  However, to fully step into this identity and calling, we must deal with the things that hold us back. Bitterness, unforgiveness, rejection, and guilt can weigh us down like heavy clothes in summer. These are not our true identity, but tricks of the enemy to rob us of our confidence in God.

We must actively renounce these false identities and break free from their grip. This includes rejecting word curses spoken over us, whether by others or even ourselves. We are not defined by our past mistakes, our current circumstances, or others' opinions of us. We are defined by who God says we are.  As we break free from these false identities, we must then renew our minds with the truth of God's Word. We need to see ourselves the way God sees us, becoming fully persuaded of our identity in Christ. This isn't a one-time event, but a daily choice to align our thoughts with God's truth.  When we truly grasp and live out our identity in Christ, doors of opportunity open. We walk in divine favor, experiencing breakthroughs in areas that once seemed impossible. Our lives become a testament to God's power and goodness, drawing others to Him.

In conclusion, let us remember that we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. We are new creations, crowned with glory and honor, called to manifest God's presence in the world. As we embrace this identity and walk in it daily, we will see transformation not only in our own lives but in the world around us.  Let's choose today to renounce anything that doesn't align with our true identity in Christ. Let's commit to renewing our minds with God's truth, becoming fully persuaded of who we are in Him. And let's step out in faith, ready to be the answer to the world's problems, manifesting God's glory in every area of our lives.  As we do this, we'll find ourselves walking in a newfound freedom and authority. We'll no longer be swayed by the opinions of others or held back by our past. Instead, we'll be firmly rooted in our identity as children of God, ready to impact the world for His glory.

Remember, you are not who others say you are. You are not defined by your past or your circumstances. You are who God says you are - His beloved child, crowned with glory and honor, called to manifest His presence in the world. Embrace this truth, live it out, and watch as God does amazing things through you.
